Attract Abundance Into Your Life by Healing Old Survival Wounds

220

Recognizing imbalances in the root chakra is essential to our development, as our foundation relies on that support to be strong so we remain grounded and attract abundance into our lives.

The root chakra is where energy resides that indicates how we think about our survival, our right to have enough, relates to security in the physical and material realm. The affirmation is “I am”. If we can allow ourselves to think about the words we so often place after “I am” – what do we find ourselves thinking after those words? What do we most often hear ourselves verbalizing after those words?

If you catch yourself thinking or verbalizing these statements, you may want to focus on healing this subtle energy:

  • I don’t have enough money or I wont have enough money
  • I am not going to have enough
  • I am not enough
  • I wont be able to manifest enough
  • I cannot afford that
  • I do not feel safe
  • I am worried that I wont be able to make my house payment or buy food
  • I am not secure
  • I worry that I cannot provide basic needs for myself or my family

Our perception of our ability to survive is usually developed in our early childhood years. Think back to the age of birth up until around 8 years of age. If we experienced poverty, abuse, neglect or abandonment during these childhood years we may feel challenged accumulating abundance as an adult.

We may find ourselves hoarding, not letting go of what we do have in fear it will not be replaced or we wont receive more. A poverty mindset, not feeling like we have enough or are enough may be deeply ingrained in our psyche. As an adult, our decisions might be motivated by fear, as if we are in a fight or flight mode.

An example of this may be hoarding cloths that we have long outgrown or are not suitable for us any longer in fear we will not afford new cloths in the future. Hanging onto material things in our homes that cause clutter block new paths of material objects being obtained.
The imbalance of our root chakra can develop at anytime of our lives. After experiencing a financial loss, homelessness, abandonment, job loss and/or the inability to provide basic needs for ourselves.

When the root chakra is imbalanced we may find ourselves experiencing anxiety, fear, nightmares or worry about not having enough money to survive. We feel on a deep level that our basic survival needs are not being met or will not be met. This thinking may put us into a downward spiral where attracting abundance into our lives seems impossible to manifest.

Problems in the physical body may present itself as lower back pain, colon issues and problems with the feet, legs and hips. Anxiety spirals throughout the body causing nervousness and fear based thought processes.

We can shift this energy by resolving the way we think about something we may have experienced that caused us to operate from this level of energy. The affirmations we speak of ourselves creates our current reality and what we may experience in the future. If we continue to resonate from a place that convinces us that we are either undeserving or may continue to repeat the same experience, we may notice an inability to create the space for abundance to survive.

In Sanskrit the root chakra is Muladhara, in the body the root chakra is located at the base of the spine or coccyx. The color represented by the root chakra is Red. The mantra is Lam or Ra. The element is Earth, that which binds us and grounds us.

We can resolve issues in the root chakra by first becoming aware of what may have happened to create this imbalance. It is helpful to repeat these affirmations:

  • I am enough
  • I am manifesting abundance to provide my basic needs
  • I am grounded
  • I am worthy of abundance
  • I am capable of acquiring the material and physical means to provide my basic needs
  • I am grateful for what I already have
  • I am letting go of what no longer serves me to make room for what is coming into my life both physically and materialistically.

We may have heard our parents or family say things like, money doesn’t grow on trees or you live, you work and you die. This mentality is a product of the reality they have created for themselves. This has nothing to do with your destiny. Their inability to provide basic needs for themselves stems from their own experience and the lack of self actualization.

Through our own self awareness and detachment from others experience we can stabilize ourselves in the comfort of knowing that we are the makers of our own destiny. And our own success lies in the ability to stand up quickly after we have been defeated with the inner knowing that the experience that caused the imbalance was merely that – an experience, a point in time, a lesson in the past.

Guided meditations for grounding and balancing the root chakra are very helpful in shifting this energy and healing old wounds. Hatha yoga is also a great daily practice to shift this energy.

Kundalini yoga teaches us to chant LAM to clear the root chakra.

Mudra:

Bring your palms together in a prayer gesture, folding the ring, index and picky finger into the palms, crossing the thumbs, then extending the middle fingers with the tips of the fingers touching while chanting LAM.

Touch your index finger to your thumbs then let the middle, ring and pinky rest gently on top of your knees in sitting in easy pose. Follow your breath while allowing a guided root chakra meditation to clear subconscious memories and negative self talk.

Grounding your energy and balancing the root chakra can be achieved in several ways to help you feel more secure, confident and less worried:

Walking in the grass, feet firmly planted on the earth

Gardening, taking walks in nature.

Any form of exercise.

Tuning out your television and turning on peaceful music.

Lighting incense – frankincense, patchouli or sandalwood in your home. Essential oils can also be mixed and sprayed at the bottom of your feet or base of the spine.

Creating a sacred space in your home for meditation or prayer.

Once you have cleared this energy you will feel more relaxed, content and at ease. You will begin to feel relieved from anxiety and pressure, an inner knowing will exist that whatever obstacle is before you will turn out exactly the way that it should.
